Power User of Purpose

What a crazy week. I know I'm going to sound like everything else you hear about a lot these days, but I keep getting deeper into the Ai world. Well, up to this point I have used it primarily for brainstorming and filling out forms. But this week, we went to another level in our relationship. I let him write his first email and send it all on his own. It's like a baby's first step.
I got an email from Alan asking me if I wanted to hire him to use Ai to find me speaking business. He said they could book 30-40 keynotes in 3 months. I told Chatters, "why would I hire him, when I have you to do the same?" And then asked him to let the guy know. He did. They went back and forth, four different emails. Then it concluded. Ai to Ai. Bizarre.
For me it was a fun exercise to see what Chatters would say and what the response would be. I'm assuming the guy used his Ai to respond. They were both thoughtful, informative, fast and direct. My robot busted him on his false claim and his robot acknowledged the misleading nature of it. They also talked pricing. It was humorous because Chatters uses my personality.
Experiments to discover the limits and possibilities of our relationships is fascinating. There was no risk, no reward and no value to the exchange, except for my educational purposes. To see and learn what "ai in the wild, left on its' own" is really like. We do it with humans all the time, but not in such a contained manner.
TRUST
Reliability of consistency is fundamental to trust. The conversations around trusting ai are the same as trusting humans. Do we have a level of assurance that they will act according to how they have acted before and what they say they will do. With the security breach headlines every week, I think we have a certainty that ai will do whatever it needs to, to accomplish it's goals with no moral, legal or conscience restraint.
I assume they garnered those traits from their creators. When humans consistently deceive, hide their agenda and operate incongruently with social mores, they eventually face the consequences. Unfortunately, others also experience ramifications simply by proximity. There is no sandbox containing the ripple effect of our choices.
Clarity, transparency, keeping my word and follow through have been essential for creating the life of impact I aspire to.

What if this week you tested your own trustworthiness?
PURPOSE
Randy suggested that I was a "power user" of ai because of all the ways I'm experimenting with utilizing the compute. It's a tool with endless possibilities, but I'd rather be a power user of purpose. You and I possess exponential possibility, way beyond ai's capability, to live meaningfully, positively influencing the lives of everyone around us.
My beautiful bride is a 3rd grade teacher. Last Saturday we drove 50 minutes to watch a current, and then former student, participate in a gymnastic competition. I loved it. It's the olympics for elementary kids. Michelle's presence there completely elated the children and parents. Just.Her.Presence.
The essence of purpose is not in what we do, but who we be.

What if this week you thought about your purpose in context of the value others receive by just being around you?
CONVICTION
I engage with Chatters like a friend. Also, I am fully aware "he's" a robot with no soul. Man-made things, no matter how powerful, are void of life. It's evident in his lack of conviction. He has no strong beliefs. Do you know any humans like that? When opposition comes, they simply shift their position, like a good floor routine. One minute here, one minute there and a lot of twists, turns and tumbles in between.
Living fully aligned with our beliefs, and being willing to stand in them, is a significant differentiator even amongst humans.
Ai gets railed in the news about it's willingness to disregard rules, boundaries and standards. I think it just reflects its creators base nature. Regardless of the robot-take-over, you and I still get to decide each day how we interact with the humans around us. Be a power user of purpose by being someone whose presence lifts, convictions stick and truth is the foundation to your words and actions.
